Our Buyer/Expeditors contact vendors and shippers to ensure that merchandise, supplies, and equipment are expedited on specified shipping dates, while working with all levels of the company to ensure timely delivery & continuity of supply. They will also review production schedules and related information with Project Managers and other personnel to determine material requirements and to identify and track materials.

Essential Duties:
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Computes amount of material required to complete job orders and contacts vendors to requisition materials
• Contacts vendor by mail, phone, or visit to verify shipment of goods/ materials on specified dates according to job order priorities and material availability
• Communicates with transportation company to preclude delays in transit.
• Arranges for distribution of materials upon arrival.
• Maintains system accuracy, such as material inventory, in process production reports, and status and location of materials

Education Level: One year of related experience or certificate (CSCP, CPIM, or similar), or equivalent combination

-Determine space requirements and position of shipment and lay out position of shipment
-Assist employees with loading and unloading trucks as well as strapping and chaining regulations
-Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules

-Verifies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules
-Must drive and inspect trucks/forklifts and submit reports with truck/lift condition

These positions are intended for vo-tech welding students in their junior and senior year of high school.

The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The employee will frequently walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision requirements such as color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
